Hello friends! How are you? Hope all is well in your world.
My head is in the clouds a bit today…I’m dreaming of jumping on a plane destined for Paris and spending entire days drowning in all the treasure at the flea markets. I just found out that there are actual travel companies that take you on guided tours of these magical markets – totally brilliant! sigh. I want to go so bad!
Okay, so the reality is…I’m not going anytime soon so what’s the next best thing? – I’m going there vicariously.
This would be my Parisian apartment for the week. A perfect place to lay my head after a day rifling through French antiques! Isn’t it dreamy?

Now on to the markets…
(just a warning – I may freak out. I get giddy at a Goodwill so this may just kill me.)
I’m going to follow this chick…she looks like she knows what she’s doing. ;)
Deep breath. Remain calm…
(starting to hyperventilate…)
OMG! Can you see why I want to go so desperately! I’m feeling light headed. I better go sit at a cafe and compose myself.
Ahh…much better. Wow, that was overwhelming but I think I have a logical plan of attack. You see, you have to be calculating at these markets. You need a system. How about this?
1. Buy everything in sight.
2. Throw out everything in my suitcases and cram new purchases inside.
3. Realize that my suitcase won’t close so just…
3. Rip up my “vicarious” return ticket and live forever in the City of Light.
Sounds good to me.

Giddy at the Goodwill ! you are too much girl lol………but oh man, that little alley with the paintings on it was calling my name. I love to sort thru what alot of people call junk..I call them treasures. Even a good yard sale entices me – just finding that one little bright spot waiting just on Me ! The room was georgous – I always love the open, airy, light places you often take us. mmmm-wish it was more than a vicarious vacation.

I have a good friend who is currently living in Belgium. I went to visit her last year and we spent a few days in Paris. We went to the Paris Flea Market, and oh my, it was wonderful. (although, I have to say, some of the vendors were quite snooty!!) Hope you get to go soon and relish the glory of it all…..

Yes..I went a few weeks ago–and if you can look past the ghetto in which they are situated, then they do become an adventure land. I too am a lover of antiques and all things historically French–that’s why I moved to Paris 2 months ago. Visiting marche aux puces was amazing. I wanted just about every 18th century piece of furniture, art, clothing, plate…you name it. I plan on going again in a few weeks but this time I’m taking the bus, not the metro (very weird).
Elissa! You lucky girl! I’m so jealous! I would die to go! I hope you are enjoying Paris…I just spent some time on your lovely blog reading some of your experiences! Amazing! I would have loved to go to that ball…it looked truly magical. Well, you have a new follower. :) If I can’t get to Paris then at least I can vicariously live through your stories! Keep it up!

Oh thank you so very much for following!! I’m following yours too! Paris is always nice–living here is a little different and sometimes makes me crazy! Then I count my blessings and all is well.
