What Katie Ate Cookbook

Hello there. How was your weekend? Hope it was lovely.

I love starting the morning off with some inspiration, especially a Monday morning. So, I thought I would share with you my latest Amazon purchase -

I have been following Katie’s blog for a little over a year now and her gorgeous food styling is nothing short of genius. Layered with texture, color and an amazing vintage flair her images take my breath away. I couldn’t resist pre-ordering her book. It should arrive on my doorstep mid October! Yah! I have had no time for cooking lately but I will happily drool over all the stunning photos…

See what I’m talking about? Crazy beautiful right?! Her compositions are works of still life magic. Oh, and you must check out this sweet video that show’s Katie in action…

There is nothing more inspiring than witnessing an artist at work – creating with authentic passion and intention!

Have a happy Monday!

A cake fit for a queen…or a princess.

I went dark there for a while with all the family coming in and then our vacation to Hawaii so I’ve got some blogging to catch up on.

I know this happened back in April but I had to share the cake that our dear friend Katie made for Grace’s 4th birthday. It was truly inspiring and Grace was beyond delighted.

I can’t even imagine how many hours she put into this cake…

She made each tiny little flower by hand and then painted them too!

Grace was amazed by the cake and couldn’t take her eyes off of it…so cute.

Katie let her apply some of the delicate little blooms to the castle walls.

A VERY happy Birthday girl!

Thank you again, Katie for all your hard work, talent and friendship. I know Grace will always remember this cake!

Check out Katie’s fabulous blog for more info on how she designed and constructed this gorgeous creation.

xo,

Ivy
