An Angel’s Wing

Hello there! What have you been up to?

Art seems to be pouring out of me and I can’t stop it! Nor do I want to! Working on the 100 faces project has really been very inspiring and I’m learning SO much!

I do love creating faces but it was nice this week to take a break from eyes, noses and mouths and work on a different piece for a dear friend…

Remember this one?

Well…it got a little makeover…

My friend had me add an Angel’s wing to it…a brilliant idea!

Then we had to have a little fun…Screen Shot 2014-11-19 at 7.08.25 PM

I was stunned to find that the wing fit her perfectly. So sweet!

And then she took it home and put it right back up over the mantel. :)

She loves it so much more now and I do too! I’m thinking I might have to do “Wing” series of works.

What have you been working on lately?

xo,

Ivy

  2. What a beautiful wing and how cool that it fit her so perfectly. I love wings, so seeing a series would be cool.

I have been writing a novel in poems for Nanowrimo, which is an interesting challenge. I’m a bit behind on my word count, though. But that’s pretty typical. Lol.

  3. I adore the angel’s wing! What a wonderful idea your friend had, and you are right…it fits her perfectly:). I thing a wing series would be amazing!

  4. Beautiful wing, a great idea. I’ve been working on a series of bright-coloured oils on canvas. They’re starting to take shape :)

  5. Beautiful!! I’m not so great with the paintbrush. The camera is my favorite tool. I’ve been capturing pictures of the ice and snow that are covering the still falling yellow leaves of fall. Winter made a surprise appearance a little earlier here in Ohio this year. It is really quite beautiful.

  6. Don’t you love those artistic epiphanies? I love the wing. It’s so ethereal and delicate. I think a wing series is a great idea.

I took a break from creative challenges after my 40 drawings in 40 days Greek Mythology series but I have now just embarked on the theme “Into the Woods”. Sadly I can’t get arting right now as my house is upside down with furniture and boxes everywhere as our living rooms are about to be painted. I’m limited to sketching out ideas right now.
