Hello creative friends!
How is your week treating you? I hope all is well in your world.
You may or may not have noticed that I’ve been a little obsessed lately…and not just with Art in general but in particular – Portraiture! I’ve always loved drawing faces but recently its become a daily practice of pushing myself, striving for more accuracy, expression and depth. I’m exploring techniques and mediums like never before and after I complete one face I quickly begin another.
All this energy has sprung forth for a couple of reasons…but the MAIN one is because I accepted an opportunity to teach on the Let’s Face It Online workshop! This year has been about growth, so I’ve said YES to the wonderful doors that are opening to me! However, I had no idea what an impact this would have on my own deep desire to hone my skills and better my practice as an Artist.
Here is some of the work I’ve been doing to prepare to teach this class…
It started with black and white charcoal studies…
and has now led me to color too…looks like I’m a teensy bit in LOVE with my new Sennelier Soft Pastels!!!
I’m enjoying the feeling of a challenge and there is nothing better than feeling yourself expand! This class will be so wonderful. I do hope you will join me and the other talented teachers for this fantastic Portraiture class!
I can’t wait to share some of my own techniques and creative processes! Click here to learn more! Don’t miss out of the early registration price too! It ends Dec.1st!

You have wonderful skill and eye! Thank you for this post :) I have primarily focused on drawing animals recently, although I have thought a lot about picking up portraiture again. Your share has inspired me to give it a whirl as soon as I’m finished with commissions! Thank you!
I love the portraits you have shared with us!! I am really interested in Let’s Face It. And well, let’s face it, I deserve to treat myself! So I am going to sign up & take advantage of that early bird price! I really like the line up and have taken your class and one from another lady – loved them both!
On your portraits above – do you think you will have your own portrait class in the techniques you used for them?
