xo,
P.S. I will be posting pics from my travels through Scotland! Can’t wait to share this adventure with you! :)
How’s it going? Hope all is well in your part of the world!
In the past couple of weeks, I’ve had the most amazing opportunities to meet some on my online friends in real life! I am continually amazed at the beautiful and real connections that form over the internet and the wonderful opportunities that emerge from those connections!
One online friend I would love to meet, is the fabulous Donna Downey! You can imagine how honored I was when she asked me to create a Mixed Media Tutorial for her blog! Woo! So fun! She featured it a few weeks back but I wanted to share it with you guys too, in case you missed it.
This piece is called “Into the Light” and it is a process of stenciling, paint, collage and encaustic wax! And yes, even some sculpture. I hand made her wings with paper, wire and wax.
You can watch the entire process of me creating this OVER HERE!
I hope you enjoy! My plan for the New Year is to create more of these free projects. I’m so excited….I have a list of ideas brewing.
Please do share your experience if you try this project out – I would love to hear from you.
Yah it’s the weekend! Hope you have lovely things planned!
I have a special treat for you today – to celebrate my upcoming Italian Art Retreat, I’ve created this special, free tutorial video just for you!
This wonderful landscape was a delight to create! Luminous layers of wax with luscious oil paint and collage = bliss! Plus, with the Italian countryside as your muse – you can’t go wrong!
Here’s a little preview of the tutorial…
To get access to the FULL tutorial click the button below.
You are going to love exploring these mixed media & encaustic techniques! I can’t wait to see what you create!
I truly hope your week has been lovely! I’m super duper excited because I’m heading out on a road trip to Bainbridge Island, WA with my friend Robin to attend a Crystal Neubauer collage workshop! Wooo!
In preparation for the trip, I even did a practice collage in Crystal’s beautiful style. I absolutely loved working with all my yummy vintage ephemera!
I will definitely be sharing my experience with you guys when I return next week!
In the meantime, I promised you a free art lesson! This one was inspired from my Spirit Horse workshop! It’s a fun, easy to do project that is perfect for a quiet afternoon, to do with some friends or even get your kiddos involved! I hope you will get your creative juices flowing and give it a go!
Here it is! Enjoy!
Much love and gratitude to you all and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! If you do happen to do this art project and you want to share your creation with me – I would be delighted! You can post it to my Facebook page!
I hope your week is going well! I, for one am feeling a little overwhelmed BUT in the best way possible! I’m basically bursting at the seams with inspiration! It seems to be coming in at every angle. Each day, I awake a little more excited to begin the day and swim through this sea of creativity – desperately trying to keep my head above water!
I can’t seem to learn fast enough or create quickly enough! The days slip by while my head is down, my hand in constant motion. Drawing and creating like a kid with a new box of crayons. It’s dizzying, bewildering, exhilarating and yes, at times a bit terrifying! This is how creativity seems to work…at least for me and the best thing I can do is share it right? Spread this crazy energy around before it consumes me!
So today, I am doing just that! I have recently discovered a new artist to me. What a gift when this happens! Her name is Juna Biagioni and her techniques of creating mixed media portraits are…well…enchanting!
I couldn’t stop watching her videos, so I wanted to share them with you!
This first one is beyond beautiful…
This is another gorgeous creation! Don’t you love her mark making and use of color! Divine!!
What a delight to discover yet another wonderful teacher to keep the creative community flourishing and my own creativity flowing! Thank you Juna for so generously offering these free videos that surely have inspired so many!
