Capturing Fall

Hello there. Hope all is well in your world. Things have been a little crazy around here – good crazy – that is…but it hasn’t left me much time for my blog.  I was grateful to find a slow afternoon last week and a bright Autumn sun in the sky. Our sunny days are numbered now, so I knew this might be my last chance to get out into the garden and take pictures of all the gorgeous Fall color.

Are the leaves still turning where you live?

Have a beautiful Wednesday.

Fall Daydreams and Equestrian Love

Hello there! I’ve been having a bit of “blogger’s block” recently but tonight, I finally sat down and decided to share with you some images that have been floating around in my head for the last week. You see, one of the mom’s at Grace’s school is a horse woman and she has just gotten back into riding. I think that is so fabulous! I’m completely useless on a horse so I always admire those who connect with them! Every time we get one of those perfectly, crisp Autumn mornings, I think of her riding her horse through golden fields and falling leaves. For some reason Autumn and horses just go together don’t they? A bright fall sky, the crunching of leaves, a touch of morning fog, the reds, oranges and yellows, warm sweaters and riding boots…I mean it’s a match made in heaven really. Don’t you think?

I may not be the best on a horse but I can still lust after that equestrian look…

So lady like and refined but still strong. Love it!

This everyday outfit is perfect with just the right amount of equestrian appeal….(click to shop)

Okay, one more horsey pic…I could gaze at these gorgeous creatures all day…

What are you dreaming about on these beautiful Fall days?

Pretty Rooms: Fall inspired

Behind our house, the light in the forest is changing. A beautiful and subtle shift where the sun no longer rises high overhead but instead dances among the trees, dipping the garden in gold. The once vibrant purple hydrangea now bow their heads, weary, faded and burnished with bronze. The first leaves are beginning to fall. What a magical time, what a gorgeous season.

I want to spread this loveliness throughout the house. Little touches of fall. Nothing over the top…just subtle hints that celebrate Autumn. Inspiration was needed. Here are some my favorite fall looks for the home…

I love how soft shades of chartreuse are used on this mantle….this would work well for me, since I have blues and greens through out my living and dining room…

I am also kinda in love with white pumpkins…so pretty and they go with everything!

How cozy is this room? Lovely!

This candle idea is genius! Simple strips of tissue paper wrapped around glass hurricanes…brilliant! Instructions here.

Are you feeling the Fall Love? How will you be decorating your home this Autumn?

Pumpkin Patch Delights

Hi there.

We are back from Texas and I’m happy to be home.

Before our trip, we went out to a pumpkin patch and had a perfect Fall day.

Thought I would share these pics with you before Halloween is over! Time is seriously going too fast…

I have to admit this was my first visit to a pumpkin patch and well, I was kind of enchanted. Highly recommend it.

Have a beautiful Thursday.

Gorgeous Nature Photography by Georgianna Lane

Hi friends…hope your Monday is going well. It’s bright and sunny here, after a weekend of rain. The trees look so lovely with the morning sunshine on their leaves.

So as you can probably tell…I am still completely enamored with Fall and when I came across these dreamy visions by Seattle photographer, Georgianna Lane, I knew I had to share them with you…

Aren’t they gorgeous? She does a whole series entitled “The Poetry of Trees”. I think I may have to collect them all…

Please go wander through her Etsy store. It’s a true delight. She also authors a lovely blog…here.

Hope these images brought some beauty to your day.

Golden leaves at my feet

I took these pictures the other day outside my friend’s home. Autumn, to me, is a magical season. A time to watch the mastery of nature’s brush, while preparing for the colder days to come. To plan, dream, consider, ponder and reflect. After the spontaneous energy of Summer, Fall feels quiet, thoughtful and comforting.

The golden leaves, both at my feet and overhead, dazzled my eyes; the sapphire sky, the perfect contrast.

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus

What do you love about this season?

I hope your path is paved with golden leaves.
