After living in Portland for eight years, you come to realize that, at times, January and February flirt with Spring like conditions…but, like always, the rain has resumed. As the gray closes in, I found myself drawn to the lovely interiors created by Suzanne Kasler.
I really love the soft, pastel hues in these rooms…reminding me of the first blooms of Spring…
So soothing to the eye…I could look at her rooms all day – imagine living in one! I wish!
To view her amazing portfolio of work check out her site.
Hope you are seeing signs of Spring where you are!

It’s sunny here and so pretty out! The whole city comes to life when Mr. Sun decides to hold court in our Northwestern skies. I love it.
To celebrate, I decided a good dose of pretty Valentine pictures were in order. I’ve been collecting them from all over the internet for my Pinterest board. Enjoy…
Hope the sun is shining in your world too.

Just got back from The Little Winter sale! It was such a beautiful show. I even got to meet Abby from Abby Try Again! It was so nice to meet her after following her blog this past year. She was super sweet and I purchased a print that I fell in love with ages ago. Looking through her gorgeous photos inspired me to post some pics from our recent trip to Texas. Although the trip was for very sad reasons, I am happy to share these shots from my mother-in-law’s lovely garden. After all the tears it was wonderful to play in her whimsical yard. Grace especially had a blast…
She has these huge old oak trees that seem to watch over the garden like gentle giants…
This little stage is actually a vintage day bed that my mother-in-law found on her many antique shopping adventures. Like the old red doors above, she collects precious treasures and finds the perfect spots for them. Grace adored dancing around on “her stage” all afternoon and into the night.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
p.s. If you live in Portland, do not, I repeat do NOT miss the opportunity to check out the incredibly talented women at the Little Winter Market. Tomorrow is the last day!
Rain is blowing in as I type this – Portland is due to be gray for the next two days. A prelude of what is to come. A new season is approaching and I’m actually excited to greet it.
Tomorrow, I start my blogging class and I’m so thrilled. Grace goes off to school. Chris to work. Me and my computer are going to cozy up and get some work done. I hope.
As I daydream of what might lie ahead…I found myself thoroughly enjoying these beautiful images by Cedric Bihr.
Simple, serene and set with the hues of autumn, I had to share…
I’ll let you know what my homework assignment is tomorrow. If only I had been this excited about homework when I was a kid!
So sorry I haven’t been posting. Its been crazy. Today is my birthday, but I’ve been celebrating all week! I finally have a little quiet moment to share with you some images from the most lovely Portland vintage boutique, Xtabay. My dear friend Amy introduced me to this little gem of a store last Saturday morning. So inspiring and glamorous!
Light filled, oh so feminine and utterly enchanting, visiting Xtabay is a must for lovers of vintage attire. Go meet Liz, the delightful store owner and check out her beautiful blog too. For those of you who don’t live in Portland, you can also shop Xtabay on Etsy here.
I couldn’t resist buying a gorgeous 1940’s necklace, I may need to go back and get a dress to go with it!
Hope you have a happy Friday!
