Vintage Treasures

Hi everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

Last weekend, I spent the days treasure hunting! A dear friend and I hit the Portland Antique Fair plus some vintage shops and flea markets. Hard work but so much fun! Here are a few of the pretty items we discovered. I will be listing them in the shop this week.

Love this sweet, Farmhouse style kitchen scale! It’s rare to find this color so I was thrilled when I came upon this one!

There is something so homey about these lovely soup bowls. You can imagine filling them to the brim with a delicious soup while the rain comes down outside. I paired them with these stately antique soup spoons too!

Mail isn’t as pretty as it used to be but we should still have a beautiful place to hold it right? Love this silver tone, vintage letter holder. Very Art Nouveau.

I’m so drawn to lavender glass. It’s romantic, nostalgic and looks so gorgeous when the light passes through it. This antique wasp catcher is missing its cork but still remains a lovely, rustic piece.

Okay well, these are just a few of the pretties we found. Hope you enjoyed them.

Have a wonderful week!

Vintage Scales

I have a thing for vintage kitchen scales. Not sure why exactly but ever since I started my hobby of treasure hunting, they just seem to call to me. Perhaps it is the lovely combo of being pretty and functional? You gotta appreciate that. Whatever it is, I just found one that I love. In the tiny town of Ennis, Montana, I discovered this beauty, hidden among the dusty relics of an antique store…

It’s a Hanson Farmhouse Scale model 2000 that was manufactured in the 1940’s. It works perfectly and although I adore it, I decided to list in my shoppe.

To soothe my inevitable separation anxiety, I combed the internet to round-up some more gorgeous scales…

See why I’m a sucker for them? So lovely and old.

Okay off to bed…so I can dream about more vintage pretties…

Have a beautiful Wednesday!

Etsy Love: Cloth and Patina

As many of you know, Etsy is home to a vast array of amazing vintage and handmade goods. Sometimes you feel overwhelmed by the sheer yumminess of it. At least, I do…

There are days when I visit Etsy and right there on the home page, something stands out and grabs my attention. Today, a little shop called Cloth and Patina did that for me.

The store’s owner is an obvious treasure hunter, like myself and I found myself drooling over some of her finds. I really appreciate how she re-invents some these found objects…like this gorgeous frame.

or these tiny tart tins. They make adorable magnets don’t they?

This little glass apple is so precious. I want one.

I love the silver shimmer of these vintage glasses. Hard to resist…

This little kitty….what does he do? Well…he holds your glasses! haha! This one made me giggle. I’m always losing my glasses!

He looks smarter right?

Her treasures are many, but at the end of the day these little guys (salt and pepper shakers) went home with me…

Yes, I know. I’m a bird freak.

Go check out her beautiful selections for yourself. I’m sure you will find a sweet trinket that you just have to have!

Do you enjoy treasure hunting? Antiquing? Garage sales? What was your best find?
