A couple of weeks ago we traveled to Sisters, Oregon to meet up with my parents and have a little vacation in the mountains. We rented a sweet little condo right in town so we could walk everywhere. It was a beautiful couple of days, sunny and warm and in sharp contrast to the dreary wetness that had moved into Portland. Gotta love the high desert! On the way home, we stopped at Detroit Lake. Such a gorgeous spot! Here are some of the pics I managed to capture…
Grace found herself the “perfect walking stick” and declared herself an explorer! Her zebra T fit in nicely for this romp in the wild. As did her head of untamed curls. (It was brushed and in a ponytail when we got in the car…I swear!)
I loved all the beautiful colors and textures!
What a fabulous end to a great weekend away.
Hello friends. I know I haven’t posted in a while but I have good reasons. I have been sick and I’m in beautiful Montana. We are here for the local 4th of July celebrations and to visit with my family. Even though I’ve been plagued the entire time with an awful sinus/respiratory infection, I dragged myself outside during the golden hour to take pictures…
My dad’s horse, Corky always makes a lovely subject…
this is how we all feel when we get to Montana…
totally blissed out.
I love it here.
Happy 4th of July!
Hope your Monday has been bearable. Mine has consisted of running errands, doing laundry and packing but I can’t complain because we are preparing to leave for New Mexico tomorrow morning.
Grace is very excited! We will be visiting my Grandmother, Aunt and Uncle who I haven’t seen in forever! We are hoping to explore many of the artistic communities there, as well as the Gila National Park. I have my camera packed so I’m hoping to capture some lovely shots to share. In the meantime, I wanted to leave you with some beautiful images from New Mexico!
I will try and pop in and do some posting but I’m not sure of the internet connection…so we’ll see! We will be back the first week of February!
Have a wonderful week!!

Just discovered a new home design store named Canvas, that opened in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Their goods are stunning. Simple, modern and timeless.
Here’s the big plus – their items are sustainable, ethically sourced and many are created by artisans in developing countries. Canvas’ founder, Andrew Corrie, sits on the Aid to Artisans Board – an amazing non-profit organization leading a handmade revolution, while supporting artists and strengthening communities around the world! You gotta love that.
Check out the eye candy…
I need this chair. Seriously, I do.
So beautiful, right? And good for the planet! It’s a win-win!
Have a fabulous Friday.
